Task 2: Commercial Eyes

For this task you  will work with a small group to create a commercial addressing bullying of BGLT youth or those who are perceived as BGLT.


We will look at what the experts do to create a commercial tragetting youth.   First with a partner make a list of what you believe are the characteristics of an effective commercial for young people.  You will present this to the class. The class will comment on the effectiveness of the ad.

Next, let's look at what the experts say about targetting youth. Go to the following site and compare the list of 15 aspects of effective ads with the one you have made.( You should copy the 15 into your notebook for use later)

Watch the Tv ads, The How to's and the Your Videos

Keep your list of how to target youth in advertising handy. As you watch think about the techniques used. 

With a group discuss what you liked/didn't like about the ads.

 You will create your own ad and produce a filmed commercial with a think before you speak theme.

You will have one week to create the dialogue and film the commercial.  If  no-one in your group has a video camera come see me.

 The ads will be viewed as a class with the other groups commenting on the effectiveness of your ad.
